The board is responsible for determining organizational mission and strategy with the executive team, supporting fundraising and fiduciary oversight, monitoring programs, and assessing governance performance.
Individual board members are also expected to understand the mission, review financial statements, advocate for the organization, leverage their networks for partnerships and fundraising, and participate fully in meetings and committees.
This was a voluntary unpaid role, with reimbursement for reasonable expenses, and all board business was conducted in English.
